Dude that sounds like the COOLEST birthday party ever! also those marzipan sea creatures are wonderful… when I was a kid I wanted to be a marine biologist, I so would have loved that party (actually I would still love that party middle age or no)

Thank you everyone! It was a lot of fun and Project O did a fabulous job! We wanted to create an experience that would make special memories for Johann, stick in the kids’ minds, and turn them on to marine science. I think it worked. Going to the river sounds like lots of fun too. If we could figure out a way for us to get down there without it costing an arm and a leg, Kevin Z, I might be persuaded to throw your next birthday bash.:)

OMG! Can you throw my next birthday party!! What fun. I usually just the kids run around outside and scrape a few knees. Although we always go to river (2 min. walk down trail from backyard ) to find crabs!

Super fantastic!!!! A great day and a great idea to use a birthday party to educate while having loads of fun!! Congratulations, Johann, Tammy & Eric!!

I had to get up early to see if there was a post before I run off to church and then to photograph the WWII Pacific combat reenactment of the battle at island of Tarawa–also an education-packed theme and remembrance of those who served, as well as those who gave their lives, in the Pacific in WWII. Quite fitting for Memorial Day weekend.
