Wacky Wednesdays

My meeting yesterday went really well. The head of the department knew of me (ulp!) and was willing to write a letter of recommendation for me. We actually enjoyed a brief conversation in her office which was remarkably refreshing, I mean she sandwiched me between other meetings with faculty members, yet afforded me a good amount of time filled with some small talk as well as fairly complete discussion of the current situation and my academic career at Avery Point. I’m impressed.

I should now have four letters including from three professors I would enjoy doing a masters with.  So now it’s up to me to construct my argument and presentation, and sell myself. I HATE selling myself. I always feel somehow dirty. But … onto other things…

Wednesdays are really hectic around here this semester. I have calculus at 8am then macroeconomics from 7–9:30pm. Since we end up getting up at 6am for pumpkin Wednesdays are very long! While I am in calc, Tammy and Johann do shanty school right on the water. Lately it has been working for a presentation on Presidential elections.

Today Johann had a haircut followed by a playdate in Westerly in the early afternoon as well. To say the least it’s been a wacky day. Then I am cramming for my first exam in econ while Johann was watching a show about Newton and Einstein…somehow I got very little cramming done.
